Job summary

Mount Druitt Hospital in NSW Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Day Only Surgery team. You will provide person-centred care, collaborate with nurses, medical staff and the multidisciplinary team, and support patients and families through the surgical journey, discharge planning, and navigation of care.

The role requires current AHPRA registration, demonstrated nursing experience in perioperative or day surgery, and the ability to lead, delegate, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Recent nursing experience in surgical or day-surgery settings.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centred care.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and advocacy for patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred care to patients and families or carers.
• Assess changing patient needs and respond to clinical priorities.
• Coordinate referrals and support patients through the discharge process.
• Delegate and supervise care provided by ENs and AINs within their scope.
• Communicate effectively with patients and advocate for their needs.
