Job summary

Bella Vista cafe, part of Good Fella Coffee, is looking for a capable Cook, Chef or experienced Kitchen All-Rounder to join our busy team. This role offers day shifts, 24+ hours per week, with pay between $33 and $40 per hour.

You’ll prepare ingredients, cook, and present menu items while working with dough, bagels and pizza dough. Enjoy paid lunch breaks, complimentary lunch and coffee during shifts and a collaborative kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a café, restaurant, bakery or similar commercial kitchen.
• Strong food preparation skills and an eye for quality and presentation.
• The ability to work efficiently and stay organised under pressure.
• A reliable, positive approach and clear communication with your teammates.
• Sound food hygiene practices and pride in maintaining a clean kitchen.
• Initiative—you notice what needs doing and help keep the kitchen moving.
• Experience with dough, bagels or pizza preparation is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Preparing ingredients and setting up your station for a smooth service.
• Cooking, assembling and presenting menu items consistently and efficiently.
• Working with dough, including preparing, hand rolling, boiling and baking bagels and preparing pizza dough.
• Following recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Coordinating with the team to manage orders during busy periods.
• Checking freshness, rotating stock and storing and labelling food correctly.
• Keeping workstations, equipment and shared kitchen areas clean, safe and ready for use.
• Pitching in with dishes, cleaning and general kitchen duties as needed.
