Job summary

Xpt Software Australia Pty is seeking a Database Administrator / Data Analyst to provide routine database administration and data management support for maintenance analysis and reporting tools. The role focuses on keeping databases available, performing backups, and monitoring data integration between source systems and the data lake environment.

You will manage legacy and modern SQL Server environments, monitor integrations, and contribute to data quality and audits.

Qualifications

• Active AGSVA NV1 clearance required for privileged access to production databases.
• Full-time role based in Melbourne Laverton, Ballarat, or Canberra.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2014/2019) including SSIS and SSRS.
• Strong SQL scripting skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Understanding of Incident and Problem Management in a secure, multi-vendor environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor data integration success and remediate failures between source systems using SQL transactional replication.
• Maintain data structure and quality within the application suite, ensuring data is ready for future migration.

Key accountabilities include maintaining database availability, performing routine backups, and monitoring data integration success between source systems and the data lake environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain system databases for legacy and modern environments (SQL 2014 and 2019).
• Monitor data integration success and remediate failures between source systems using SQL transactional replication.
• Maintain data structure and quality within the application suite, ensuring data is ready for future migration.
• Execute scripts and application data exports to support third-party and national compliance audits approximately twice per year.
• Assist in data quality profiling and remediation work as directed by the Lead DBA or government stakeholders.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration (2014/2019) including SSIS and SSRS.
• Proficiency in SQL scripting for data analysis and reporting.
• Understanding of Incident and Problem Management within a secure, multi-vendor environment.
