Job summary

Amazon Leo Data Scientist role focuses on architecture, data analysis tools, and flight-worthiness of satellites. You will coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to define data collection, pipelines, and interpretation strategies for ground and space systems.

You will build scalable models, dashboards, and training data pipelines; expect cross-team collaboration and a fast-paced environment enabling rapid manufacturing scale.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of data scientist experience.
• 3+ years of data querying languages (SQL) and scripting languages (Python).
• 3+ years of ML/statistical modeling experience.
• 1+ years of working with AI systems.
• Master’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineering, software and manufacturing teams to understand drivers on satellite performance.
• Lead design, build and implementation of production models for real-time decisions.
• Drive actions at scale to improve test methodology and satellite reliability.
• Analyze satellite telemetry from lab and on-orbit test results.
• Develop models and data pipelines for satellite telemetry.
• Create datasets for pre-training and fine-tuning of LLMs.
