Job summary

Elysium Digital seeks a Data Practice Lead to own and grow its data consulting offering within Strategy & Advisory. You will direct services, standards and growth, while remaining closely connected to client delivery and leadership.

You will lead significant data engagements across strategy, governance, architecture and implementation, mentoring consultants and developing new offerings to ensure high-impact outcomes for government and private sector clients.

Elysium Digital partners with government and private sector organisations to help them get real value from their data. We have been delivering data strategy, governance and architecture work across a range of clients, and demand is growing. We are now looking for someone to lead and grow this important part of our service portfolio.

As Data Practice Lead, you will own Elysium’s data consulting practice end to end. That covers the services we take to market, the quality of what we deliver, the pipeline that keeps the practice busy and the people who do the work. You will sit within our Strategy & Advisory business and work closely with our technical practice, so that our advice is grounded in what can actually be built and our delivery work is shaped by clear strategy.

This is a leadership role that stays close to the client. You will lead our most significant data engagements yourself and remain partly billable, because we think practice leaders should be credible in front of clients rather than only behind them.

What Will You Do?

As Data Practice Lead at Elysium Digital, your responsibilities will include:

• Practice Leadership – Set the direction for Elysium’s data practice, including the services we offer, the standards we hold and the capabilities we need to build, and take ownership of its growth and commercial performance.


• Client Delivery – Lead our most significant data engagements across strategy, governance, architecture and implementation, and stay hands‑on enough to keep your delivery judgement sharp.


• Growth & Pipeline – Build pipeline through your own professional networks and through Elysium’s existing client relationships, panels and sales channels, and convert that into sustained work for the practice.


• Service & Offering Development – Develop and expand our portfolio of data services, including methodologies, accelerators, reference architectures, tooling and reusable collateral, so each engagement starts from a stronger base than the last.


• Data Strategy & Advisory – Provide authoritative advice on data strategy, governance operating models, data management practice and analytics and AI readiness, tailored to each client’s context rather than applied from a template.


• Architecture & Implementation Oversight – Guide the design and delivery of data platforms and solutions, working with our technical practice on architecture decisions, delivery approach and quality.


• Stakeholder Engagement – Build trusted relationships with senior executives and partners, and act as the senior point of contact and escalation on our data engagements.


• Team Leadership & Development – Grow the practice by recruiting, mentoring and developing data consultants, supporting their career progression and lifting technical and consulting capability across the team.


• Cross-Practice Collaboration – Work closely with colleagues across strategy, design, architecture, AI and delivery so clients get the benefit of a multidisciplinary firm rather than a single specialist.

What Makes You a Good Fit?

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Has extensive experience delivering data strategy, governance, architecture and implementation work in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments – government sector experience highly regarded


• Has led a consulting practice, capability or service line, or has been a senior part of one and is ready to take the lead


• Has a track record of winning work, including shaping opportunities, writing proposals and responding to RFQs, and has carried revenue or growth responsibility


• Brings professional networks that can be put to work generating opportunities, and is comfortable being visible in the market


• Is credible across the full span from executive strategy conversations through to design and delivery detail, and can hold their own with engineers as well as with secretaries and CIOs


• Understands data management frameworks such as DAMA DMBoK and can apply them pragmatically


• Has functional or technical knowledge of leading data and analytics platforms, for example Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake or Tableau, and a clear view on how AI is changing what clients need from their data foundations


• Can develop and defend business cases for data investment, articulating value in terms that matter to executive sponsors


• Is skilled in facilitation and communication, particularly at executive and partner level


• Enjoys building people as well as capability, and has managed and mentored consultants before


• Is comfortable building things that do not exist yet, and happy to spend time on offerings, collateral and pipeline alongside billable delivery


• Is adaptable and pragmatic, able to design workable solutions in messy environments


• Holds or is eligible for an AGSVA security clearance
