Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Data Platform Engineer (Mid-level) based in Australia to transform an established data and ML platform into a scalable, self-service environment. You will build deployment pipelines, IaC modules, and reusable tooling that empowers engineering teams to launch and maintain data services with minimal manual intervention.

You will join a Data & AI team that values technical judgment and accountability, contributing to platform reliability and growing ownership.

Qualifications

• Ownership of deployment paths end-to-end, from pipeline to runbook.
• 2+ years of professional software/data/platform/infrastructure experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Practical Python and SQL in professional tasks.
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Ability to navigate and explain unfamiliar codebases and troubleshoot.
• Experience with containers and cloud concepts, especially AWS (SageMaker not required).
• Cross-functional collaboration across data, backend, and infrastructure teams.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and ability to review generated code critically.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and willingness to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Improve CI/CD pipelines and adapt workflows for reliable delivery.
• Develop and extend infrastructure-as-code modules with consistent patterns.
• Apply data governance standards for new data services and infrastructure.
• Build self-service tooling and a reusable template repository for pipelines.
• Create reusable modules to simplify pipeline creation in standardized workflows.
• Document runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and practical documentation.
• Own data access workflows and streamline access requests.
• Lead the template repository and infrastructure modules roadmap.
• Collaborate with data, backend, and infrastructure teams to improve reliability.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development tools with careful validation of generated code.
