Job summary

Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) seeks a proactive leader to head a high‑performing team delivering data provision, reporting and information services for the Assessment Division in Melbourne.

You will drive strategic advice, manage complex stakeholder relationships and ensure high‑quality outcomes within tight timeframes, while aligning work with applicable legislation and VPS values.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in data or quantitative related discipline is mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience leading a high performing team and delivering data provision, reporting or information services in a complex environment.
• Significant experience providing strategic advice, managing stakeholder relationships and delivering high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
• Experience with government reporting, large-scale assessment, education data or related fields is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a high-performing team to deliver high-quality services, with budget and people management responsibilities.
• Build and maintain respectful, collaborative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.
• Provide leadership in a dynamic environment by responding flexibly to shifting priorities, managing pressure effectively and ensuring delivery of high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
• Provide authoritative analysis and expert advice to support evidence-based decision-making for VCAA management, the Board, staff and external stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement by adopting new techniques, technologies and service delivery approaches.
• Represent the organisation in national and international forums, including supporting Victorian participation in sample assessments and liaising with schools, sector bodies and external contractors.
• This role may require work outside standard business hours during peak operational periods to meet business requirements.
