Job summary

Ayan Infotech is seeking a DATA GOVERNANCE CONSULTANT for a long-term contract in Sydney, onsite 100%. The role focuses on building and maturing governance capabilities, metadata, data quality, and stewardship across enterprise data platforms.

The successful candidate will design frameworks, implement tools like Informatica Cloud DG & Catalog, and collaborate with business teams to enable governance across Azure, Snowflake, Databricks and SQL environments.

Qualifications

Design and implement enterprise Data Governance frameworks, standards, policies and procedures.
Define governance operating models, decision rights, governance forums and escalation paths.
Establish governance roles including Data Owners, Data Stewards, Custodians and Governance Councils.
Develop governance roadmaps aligned with data strategy and compliance.
Lead implementation and configuration of Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog.
Configure business glossaries, metadata repositories, classifications and governance workflows.
Implement automated metadata harvesting and lineage capabilities.
Enable integration with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks and SQL-based systems.

Responsibilities

Develop business glossaries and taxonomy models.
Define ownership, stewardship and approval workflows.
Improve data discoverability and business understanding of critical data assets.
Define critical data elements and quality rules; establish KPIs and monitoring.
Support governance workflows and issue remediation.
Drive Data Stewardship adoption across business units.
Capture end-to-end data lineage and classification processes.
Support compliance, audit requests and regulatory reporting.
