Job summary

Telstra Health is seeking a Data Engineer to build scalable data solutions on Snowflake and shape the enterprise data platform. You will work across Product, Engineering and Architecture to deliver end-to-end data capabilities and analytics-ready data models.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on Snowflake experience, strong SQL and Python, and familiarity with modern cloud data tooling like dbt. This hybrid Melbourne-based role offers opportunities to grow technical expertise and influence

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineering with Snowflake or similar cloud data platform.
• Strong SQL skills and Python for data pipelines.
• Experience with data engineering tools such as dbt, Snowpipe, Snowpark, Streams or Tasks.
• Experience integrating data across cloud platforms, APIs, SaaS products or enterprise systems.
• Understanding of data modelling, data quality, governance and security principles.
• Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing and source control practices.
• Practical experience with AWS data services highly regarded.
• Australian citizenship is required for this role.

About the Role

As a Data Engineer in our Data Team, you'll build and enhance scalable data solutions that power trusted data and digital health innovation.

Working across Product, Engineering and Architecture, you'll develop end-to-end data solutions on our Snowflake platform and help grow Telstra Health's enterprise data platform.

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving technical problems and growing their expertise in Snowflake and modern cloud data engineering.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build, maintain and enhance scalable data engineering solutions on Snowflake

About You

• Hands-on experience building data solutions using Snowflake or a similar cloud data platform
• Strong SQL skills and experience developing data pipelines using Python
• Experience with data engineering tools such as dbt, Snowpipe, Snowpark, Streams or Tasks
• Experience integrating data across cloud platforms, APIs, SaaS products or enterprise systems
• Understanding of data modelling, data quality, governance and security principles
• Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing and source control practices
• Practical experience with AWS data services highly regarded
• Healthcare data experience, including FHIR or HL7, is advantageous but not essential
• A collaborative mindset and a desire to continue growing your technical capability
• Australian citizenship is required for this role.
