Job summary

CareCone Group is seeking a data engineering/BI professional in Sydney to design and implement robust data models and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines. The role emphasizes Star schema and Kimball-style modelling, data lake/mesh concepts, and cloud-based analytics.

You will work with AWS services, BI tooling, and reporting dashboards, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions and actionable insights in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Database and data warehouse modelling experience (Star schema, Kimball, Snowflake) valued.
• ETL/ELT pipelines or data analytics experience.
• Familiar with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• DevOps/CI/CD experience desirable.
• Experience with Data Lake, Data Mesh, AWS Cloud and analytics is advantageous.
• Strong SSIS/SSRS/SSMS and scripting (bash/sh, PowerShell).
• Experience with AWS S3, Airflow, Glue, Qlik or SAP BO desirable.
• Atlassian Jira/Confluence or MS SharePoint experience desirable.
• Experience with incident management tools.
• Strong understanding of data platforms, models and reporting.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication to C-Level.

Job description

Database (3NF) / data warehouse modelling (e.g. Star schema, Kimball, Snowflake, Hybrid) experience highly desirable

Data engineering with ETL/ELT tools or code pipelines or data analytics experience

Certification or working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall principles and methodologies

Experience with DevOps & CI/CD desirable but not critical

Experience with Data Lake, Data Mesh, AWS Cloud, Analytics, Cloud Reporting and/or Machine Learning desirable but not essential

Demonstrated strengths in Microsoft SQL Server BI Stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSMS) and code scripting e.g. Linux/Unix Scripting (bsh, ksh), Powershell

Experience with AWS S3, Apache Airflow, Glue, Qlik, SAP Business Objects desirable

Experience with Atlassian products (Confluence, Jira) or MS Sharepoint desirable

Experience with incident management tools and workflows (e.g. support ticket applications)

Understanding of business applications, interfaces and integrated operational environments

Good understanding of Data Platforms, Data models and Reporting (including Dashboards)
