Job summary

Jewish Care Victoria is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to build and scale our enterprise data platform using Microsoft Fabric and OneLake. You will design end-to-end data pipelines, ensure governance and security, and collaborate with stakeholders across operations and IT.

The role reports to the Head of Data & Analytics and focuses on delivering robust data engineering solutions, while maturing our data platform and governance practices in a not-for-profit setting.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and developing enterprise data engineering solutions.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and the Microsoft data ecosystem.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, lakehouse architecture and data modelling principles.
• Experience implementing CI/CD and automated deployment practices using Azure DevOps, Git and Microsoft Fabric deployment capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and maintain enterprise data engineering solutions using Microsoft Fabric and the broader Microsoft data platform.
• Build and manage data ingestion, integration, transformation and storage solutions across operational and external systems.
• Develop data pipelines, lakehouse solutions, data transformation processes and structured data layers within Microsoft Fabric and OneLake.
• Develop and maintain engineering solutions using source control, automated testing and deployment practices to ensure quality, repeatability and maintainability.
• Translate business and reporting requirements into robust, maintainable and scalable engineering solutions.
• Work closely with the Head of Data & Analytics, reporting developers, business stakeholders, application owners and technology teams.
• Establish and embed technical standards, reusable components, automated quality controls and deployment practices.
• Ensure data is secure, reliable, governed and available to support reporting, analytics and evidence-based decision-making.
• Support the ingestion, transformation, validation and preparation of data from AlayaCare and other enterprise systems into OneLake.
• Develop and maintain documentation, data models and engineering processes that support long-term maintainability and scalability.
• Contribute to the ongoing maturity of Jewish Care’s data platform, engineering capability and data governance practices.
