Job summary

Transport for NSW, based in Sydney, is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain data pipelines and cloud infrastructure that support reporting, analytics and decision-making across large infrastructure programs.

You will work with Azure Data Factory and Databricks, build reliable data models, ensure data quality, and contribute to CI/CD and platform maintenance, enabling trusted data for asset performance and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in SQL and Python.
• Demonstrated experience in designing databases and developing data models.
• Experience in data cleansing, transformation, and pipeline management.
• Experience supporting DevOps and CI/CD platforms and practices.

Responsibilities

• Join the Metro Data Ecosystem team and help build and maintain the data platform that underpins reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
• Design, develop, test, and support data pipelines, data models, and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Ensure data is reliable, secure, and ready for analysis across the full data engineering lifecycle.
• Work with Azure Data Factory and Databricks, maintaining a trusted data platform as a single source of truth.
