Job summary

Bunnings Warehouse in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to turn complex enterprise data into trusted products and actionable insights. You’ll build scalable data pipelines using Python, dbt, Airflow, Snowflake and Power BI in a collaborative Data, AI, Loyalty and Analytics team.

You’ll design analytical models, improve data quality, and partner with BI developers, data scientists and product teams to deliver connected data solutions across the business.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years data engineering experience.
• Strong Python/SQL, dbt and Airflow skills.
• Experience with Snowflake cloud platform.
• Knowledge of data governance and metadata principles.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines and curated datasets for reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives.
• Design dimensional/semantic models for easy data consumption.
• Develop reusable transformation logic with Python, SQL, dbt and Airflow.
• Improve data quality with automated testing, monitoring and documentation.
• Optimize queries for performance, scalability and cost.
• Translate business requirements into practical data products.
• Collaborate with BI, data science, analysts and product teams.
• Participate in peer reviews and maintain engineering standards.
• Define clear, consistent business definitions while balancing governance.
