Job summary

Nine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company seeking a Data Engineer to join the Commercial Growth Squad. You will own the full development and maintenance lifecycle of data products, enabling actionable insights to maximise ad revenue and support strategic decisions.

You'll design data models, build robust ETL pipelines, and work with cloud platforms. A strong programming background in Python and SQL, plus experience with Airflow, is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and modeling.
Experience building data pipelines and ETL processes for data warehouses.
Ability to design scalable data models aligned with business needs.
Experience with cloud data services and deployment automation.

Responsibilities

Design and implement data models that align with business needs.
Develop and maintain reliable data pipelines (ETL) to load and transform data into data warehouses.
Ensure pipelines are scalable and efficient considering data volume, velocity, and variety.
Implement data quality checks and validation processes to maintain accurate data.
Set up monitoring and alerting to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Perform root cause analysis for incidents and implement corrective actions.
Contribute to the technical design and vision for the data platform.
Explore new AI technologies to enhance value delivery across data workflows.
