Job description

Our client, a government agency based in ACT, is looking to onboard a Data Engineer for a 4-month rolling contract.

Key Accountabilities
  • Contribute to the detailed design, development, and documentation of Data Products under the guidance of the Project Lead.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Modelling Leads, fellow Data Engineers, Test/QA, and Business Analysts to co-design, co-develop, and test data products.
  • Optimise and troubleshoot data pipelines for performance and reliability.
  • Engage with Product Owners and Data Reference Groups to analyse requirements and deliver solutions aligned to data governance, architecture, and security standards.
  • Keep up to date with data engineering best practices and emerging trends, especially within Microsoft Fabric.
Key Requirements
  • Critical thinking skills understanding the value of Data Products to meet organisational goals, especially in the highly regulated Healthcare sector.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Python and SQL
  • Experience of agile and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent collaborator, communicator and team player with a commitment to learning new skills.
Highly Desirable
  • Experience with health data analysis and engineering.
  • Experience in PySpark.
