Job summary

Horizon Power seeks a Data Engineer to build scalable data solutions that empower reporting, analytics and AI initiatives for Western Australia. You will work within the Digital & Data Transformation team, connecting data from multiple systems and delivering trusted information for regional communities.

In this role you will design pipelines, partner with stakeholders, and contribute to a modern data ecosystem that supports both business insights and operational intelligence across Western

Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering data engineering solutions.
  • Strong SQL, Python and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Power BI and modern data architectures.
  • Experience designing real-time data integration using Kafka.
  • Hands-on with data ingestion and CDC technologies like BryteFlow or Upsolver.
  • Knowledge of batch and streaming data patterns and cloud integration.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proactive, analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Working within our Digital & Data Transformation team, you'llbuild the trusted data foundations that enable reporting, analytics, operationalinsights and emerging AI capabilities that support regional communities acrossWestern Australia. This is an opportunity towork on meaningful challenges, connecting data from multiple systems andtransforming it into scalable, reliable solutions that drive real businessoutcomes. You'll partner with stakeholders across the business, collaboratewith BI Analysts and fellow engineers, and play a key role in evolving HorizonPower's modern data ecosystem.

What You’ll Do:

What You’ll Bring:
  • Proven experience delivering data engineering solutions and building scalable data pipelines.
  • Strong skills in SQL, Python and modern cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience working with technologies such as Snowflake, Power BI and contemporary data architectures.
  • Experience designing and supporting real-time and event-driven data integration solutions using data streaming platforms such as Confluent Kafka.
  • Hands-on experience with data ingestion and change data capture (CDC) technologies, including tools such as BryteFlow, Upsolver or similar modern data integration platforms.
  • Knowledge of batch and streaming data patterns, data synchronisation, and integrating enterprise systems into cloud-based analytical platforms.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical solutions.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, remain calm under pressure and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
