Job summary

Brownstone Consulting in Canberra, ACT, is hiring Data Engineer(s) to design and build data pipelines and migration workflows for Defence enterprise platforms. This permanent role requires strong SQL/ETL skills, data modelling, and experience with data feeds into Angular front-ends.

Two positions available, on-site at Canberra with NV2 clearance and Australian citizenship. You will join a small, mission-focused team delivering critical data solutions for Navy analytics and related applications.

Qualifications

• SFIA level 4 data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL and ETL/ELT tooling experience.
• Data modelling and pipeline optimisation experience.
• Understanding of how data feeds an Angular front end.
• Enterprise data platform experience (e.g. Cloudera) or cross-domain data movement is highly regarded.

About Brownstone

Brownstone Consulting is an Australian-owned, Canberra-based Defence ICT company. For seven years our team has designed, built and sustained the Navy’s enterprise analytics, assurance system, a suite of Angular, .NET and SQL Server web applications Navy uses every day to manage Fleet readiness, seaworthiness and assurance. It is one of the most successful ICT projects in Defence, used across the Defence Protected and Secret networks, and it is regarded as one of the most successful Defence ICT projects of the past two decades. We are a small, innovative, close-knit team with very little turnover, and we are now bringing the same approach to a new Defence enterprise web application program.

The role

Join the team that built Defence's first automated Protected-to-Secret data pipeline, and help move a mission-critical application's data onto Defence's enterprise data platform.
