Job summary

People First Bank is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the Data and Insights team in Australia. The role focuses on maintaining and improving the Data and Insight platform, ensuring stability, scalability and security while building data pipelines for analytics and reporting.

You will mentor junior team members, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and design end-to-end data solutions leveraging PySpark, Azure, SQL, Python and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a similar data engineering role in a complex data environment.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Services.
• Proficient in SQL, PySpark, Python; strong data modeling and pipeline design skills.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and Azure Pipelines; familiarity with Power BI and PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance in-house PySpark frameworks for standardized implementations.
• Mentor junior teammates and the analytics community.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality data-driven solutions.
• Design end-to-end data engineering solutions and perform exploratory analyses.
• Deliver quality solutions with automated testing, documentation, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps.

Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced data engineer to join our Data and Insights team.This role will play a pivotal role in for the ongoing administration and improvement of the Data and Insight platform, ensuring its stability, scalability, and security, building data pipelines for Analytics and Reporting use cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Development and enhancement of in-house frameworks on PySpark to promote standardized implementations and re-use.
• Provide mentorship and upskilling to junior team members and the broader analytics community.
• Liaise and build quality relationships with internal & external stakeholders to deliver high quality data driven solution deliverables.
• Exploratory Data analysis and end-to-end data engineering solution design
• Delivery of quality solutions on time using best practices for automated testing, documentation, Azure DevOps services Git and Azure pipelines.
• Monitoring Support Data and Insights Platform batch operations.

You are the go-to expert in crafting, implementing, and sustaining resilient data processing pipelines. Your role is pivotal in guaranteeing the effectiveness, precision, and scalability of our data infrastructure, impacting not only the Data and Insights team but also extending across the entire organization.

Knowledge and Experience
