Job summary

Land Services SA seeks a commercially minded Product Owner to own the Sum Insured product backlog and shape the roadmap. You will work with customers, partners and development teams to translate ideas into clear requirements, prioritised work and valuable outcomes.

You will write user stories, manage backlogs and collaborate across dispersed teams, balancing customer value with technical feasibility. Insurance/insurtech experience is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in a product development environment.
• Strong capability in writing user stories, managing backlogs and prioritising requirements.
• Sound technical acumen, including an understanding of systems, data and integrations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bring people together.
• Confidence working with developers to explore options, trade-offs and practical solutions.
• Experience in agile and/or DevOps environments.
• A curious, proactive mindset and the confidence to challenge how things are done.
• Experience in insurance, insurtech or a related sector will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with insurance and insurtech customers and partners to understand needs and define product requirements.
• Own, prioritise and manage the product development backlog for data products and services.
• Write clear user stories and support effective planning and delivery across releases.
• Work with geographically dispersed product and technology teams to bring ideas to life.
• Use product metrics, customer feedback and data requirements to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Balance customer outcomes, commercial value and technical feasibility throughout the product lifecycle.
