Job summary

WSP is growing its Mission Critical – Building Services team and seeks an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to support high‑performance data centre environments. You will deliver mechanical design for HVAC and mission critical systems within data centres and help drive end‑to‑end project delivery.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and digital engineering, own technical quality and documentation, and mentor graduates while contributing

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience within building services consulting.
• Experience delivering HVAC/building services in data centres or mission critical environments.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Strong communication and collaborative approach.
• Motivated to develop technical expertise in high‑performance environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design for HVAC and mission critical building systems in data centres.
• Support end-to-end project delivery from concept to construction and commissioning.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and digital engineering teams.
• Own technical quality, coordination, and documentation across project deliverables.
• Engage with clients, contractors and stakeholders to support outcomes.
• Contribute to planning, risk management and delivery performance.
• Assist in mentoring graduate engineers and support team culture.
