Job summary

Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd in Melbourne, Australia is seeking Data Center Technicians to support the world’s largest data centers and the AWS cloud infrastructure. You will install and troubleshoot critical data center infrastructure, including racks, servers, and networking hardware, aligning with internal SLAs.

The role requires hands-on hardware and networking experience, 4-days-on/4-days-off shift pattern (including nights) and the ability to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.

Responsibilities

• Escalation point and technical troubleshooter for all Systems and problems.
• Deep diving into Linux server issues.
• Remediation of physical layer outages, both Systems & Network.
• Remediation or recovery of physical power issues on racks and participate in Data Center power & cooling events.
• Shift work (4 days on and 4 days off including night shifts on a rotational basis).
• Install & configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs.
• Triage & resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region.
• Physical replacement of server and network device parts.
• Ensure correct rotation of parts & spares.
• Enforcing Amazons Security Best Practices.
• Interact with third party vendors & contractors.
• Engage with Remote Hands & Eyes in EU Regional Cloudfront POPs.
• This position also has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment using our lifting equipment.
• It may require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
• Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and their own vehicle to travel between sites.

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
• 1+ years of computer networking experience
• High school or equivalent diploma

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
