Job summary

Speedpanel, a leading Australian manufacturer, is seeking a Data Analyst to join the ICT/Systems team at our Bayswater head office. You will build scalable data platforms, develop Power BI reports and dashboards, and partner with stakeholders to improve decision-making across operations.

The role emphasizes data governance, cloud technologies (Azure/Microsoft Fabric), and the application of AI to analytics.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Data Engineer or similar.
• Strong experience with Power BI, including data modelling, DAX and dashboard development.
• Experience designing, implementing or managing a data warehouse or modern data platform.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, Power Automate and preferably Power Apps.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric or another major cloud computing platform.
• Exposure to cloud-based data warehouses, data lakes or lakehouse architectures.
• Practical experience implementing or supporting AI, machine learning, generative AI or intelligent automation solutions.
• An understanding of data governance, security, privacy and data quality principles.

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting, analytical and information requirements.
• Build and maintain Power BI reports, datasets, semantic models and dashboards.
• Analyse operational, financial, customer and other business data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Establish consistent definitions, KPIs and reporting standards across the organisation.
• Improve the accuracy, accessibility and reliability of management information.
• Lead or support the design and implementation of the organisation's data warehouse and broader data platform architecture.
• Consolidate information from multiple business systems into a structured and reliable central data environment.
• Develop appropriate data structures, schemas and governance standards.
• Monitor data quality, integrity, availability and performance.
• Manage the ongoing maintenance, optimisation and enhancement of the data warehouse.
• Document data sources, models, integrations, business rules and reporting processes.
• Work with internal teams and external technology partners where required.
• Use Microsoft technologies to improve reporting, information management and business processes.
• Develop solutions using tools such as Power BI/DAX, Power Query, Power Automate and Power Apps.
• Work with Microsoft 365 data sources including SharePoint, Excel, Teams and other business applications.
• Support integration between Microsoft 365 applications, business systems and the organisation's data platform.
• Assist with the implementation and ongoing development of cloud-based data solutions, preferably within the Microsoft Azure / Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
• Support the migration, integration and management of data workloads in cloud environments.
• Identify practical opportunities to introduce AI and machine learning into business processes and analytics.
• Assist with the implementation of AI solutions such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI services or other appropriate technologies.
• Explore opportunities to use generative AI, predictive analytics and intelligent automation to improve productivity and decision-making.
• Ensure AI and cloud solutions are implemented with appropriate consideration for security, privacy, governance and responsible use.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be comfortable working across the Microsoft ecosystem, particularly Microsoft 365, Power BI and related data technologies, and will have practical exposure to cloud computing and AI implementation.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Analyst to join the ICT/Systems team at our Bayswater head office.

You will play an important role in building a reliable, scalable data platform that provides the organisation with trusted information, improved reporting and increasingly intelligent ways of using data to support decision-making and operational improvement.

About You

Ideally, you will have:
