Job summary

The University of Melbourne invites applications for a Data Analyst in the ESG - Data Operations & Analytics team. In this fixed-term full-time role (12 months), you will turn University data into clear, actionable insights and partner with faculties to guide evidence-based decision making.

You will engage stakeholders, define requirements, and build data products using AWS, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint to deliver scalable reporting and impactful dashboards.

• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver information and insights.
• Ability to gather and document user requirements and apply data management practices.
• Analytical skills to solve business problems and present insight-rich narratives.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into data sets, visualisations and reports.
• Analyse data to test hypotheses, synthesize findings and provide clear recommendations.
• Define scope, estimate effort and document functional requirements for transparency and reusability.
• Use AWS, Power BI and Excel to investigate data, build visualisations and scalable reporting solutions.
• Increase stakeholder capability in using data and identify recurring needs for enterprise solutions.
