Job description

As a Data Analyst you will be defining and implementing analytics solutions to business problems utilising advanced analytics techniques. The role will be responsible for building analytical capability and showcasing the value of analytics by developing insights, models and demonstrating practical applications.

This is a one year maximum term position.

What will you be doing?

  • Defining Analytics Requirements: Clearly defining data requirements to enable efficient analysis and testing of hypotheses through discovery analytics.
  • Developing Analytical Solutions: Building appropriate solutions, models, or algorithms to effectively address and resolve complex problems.
  • Establishing Enterprise Data Strategy Foundations: Creating robust analytics foundations, including necessary processes and software, for the Enterprise Data Strategy (EDS), and ensuring solutions are transparent and technically sound.
  • Enhancing Documentation and Governance: Recommending and creating appropriate documentation and governance to ensure repeatability and auditability of processes.
  • Driving Strategy and Efficiency: Driving efficiencies and contributing to the long-term strategy of the business unit, simplifying people and business processes to support the RAC strategy and culture.
  • Fostering Team Capability and Relationships: Cross-skilling team members to build overall capability and developing strong, effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Communicating and Influencing: Providing clear communication about progress, challenges, and deliverables, presenting analytical results to gain buy-in, and using storytelling to demonstrate the value of analytics solutions, thereby influencing their application to ensure value creation.

What are we looking for in you?

  • Advanced Analytics Experience: Demonstrated experience in an advanced analytics role, solving complex business problems with analytics.
  • Analytics Tools Proficiency: Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with analytics tools.
  • SQL: SQL is a must for this role due to gathering data from multiple platforms.
  • Power BI Expertise: Experience with Power BI, including building and managing reports and dashboards.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience with Azure, including integrating and utilising cloud-based analytics solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Educational Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, such as Business or Statistics.
