Job summary

East Coast Car Rentals is seeking a Data Analyst to join the commercial team at Southport, Gold Coast. You’ll acquire, validate and cleanse data from reservations, fleet and finance systems, and maintain data integrity to support pricing decisions and performance analysis.

• Experience building dashboards and visualisations in Power BI, Tableau or equivalent.
• Sound data quality and validation discipline.
• Ability to explain analysis clearly to non-technical people across sales, finance and operations.
• Full working rights in Australia.

East Coast Car Rentals has been putting Australians on the road since 1979.

We operate a national fleet across 14 locations, and our commercial team at Southport is where the pricing, yield and performance decisions for the whole network get made.

That team is growing. We’re looking for a Data Analyst to join it, reporting to our Revenue Analyst. It’s a hands‑on analytical role with direct line of sight to commercial decisions – the analysis you produce goes to the people who act on it.

Data Analyst

• Acquire, validate and cleanse data from our reservations, fleet and finance systems, and maintain the integrity of the underlying data sets

• Analyse rate, utilisation, yield and margin data to identify trends and patterns across branches, vehicle categories and distribution channels

• Build and maintain pricing, forecasting and scenario‑analysis models, and quantify the impact of proposed pricing changes

• Develop and maintain dashboards and automated reporting for branch, channel and fleet performance

• Conduct market and competitor rate analysis to inform pricing positioning

• Load and maintain pricing and inventory data in our subscription products platform

• Work with branch managers and the commercial team to turn analysis into practical recommendations

• Prepare reporting and presentations for senior management setting out findings and recommended actions

What you’ll bring

• A degree in a quantitative, commercial or business discipline – data analytics, statistics, finance, economics, engineering or similar

• At least two years’ experience in a data, pricing or commercial analyst role

• Strong Excel skills, including modelling and scenario analysis

• Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and querying

Nice to have

• Experience in a high-volume, perishable‑inventory industry – car rental, travel, transport, logistics or hospitality
