Job summary

Maybank Dairy in Mooroopna North VIC is seeking a full-time Dairy Cattle Farm Operator to join our expanding team. This hands-on role blends technical livestock care with efficient milking operations in a modern dairy setting.

You will oversee herd health, optimize milk production, operate dairy machinery and irrigation systems, and ensure biosecurity and OHS compliance while contributing to pasture and livestock management during our growth phase.

Maybank Dairy Pty Ltd is a dairy enterprise located in Mooroopna North VIC 3629.

As a result of operations expanding we are now seeking an experienced full-time Dairy Cattle Farm Operator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role requiring a blend of technical skill, livestock expertise, and problem-solving abilities within a modern dairy environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the health of our expanded herd and maintaining the efficiency of our milking operations during this exciting growth phase.

Key Responsibilities

Overseeing the daily health and welfare of the herd.

Managing efficient milking operations and maintaining high-standard hygiene protocols.

Implementing feeding and nutritional programs to optimize milk production and animal growth.

Operating and maintaining sophisticated dairy machinery and automated irrigation systems.

Coordinating the integration of new livestock and pasture management

Monitoring and recording data regarding herd fertility, milk quality, and veterinary treatments.

Ensuring strict compliance with biosecurity and occupational health and safety (OHS) standards..

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in operating milking plants and agricultural machinery.

Ability to identify equipment malfunctions and make decisions within operational guidelines.

Excellent communication skills to work cooperatively within a specialised team.

An AQF II or III in Agriculture or Diary Production or in a similar field. Alternatively, applicants who possess at least 12 months of relevant work experience in a similar industry will be highly regarded.

A strong appreciation of the overall dairy farming process and a commitment to animal welfare.
