Job summary

Talent in Canberra is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to provide specialist cyber engineering advice within a complex, highly regulated environment, working with engineering teams and external delivery partners. The role has a strong engineering focus, involved in testing, certification and system assurance activities.

You’ll work alongside engineering leads, develop and review cyber testing plans, and compile verification evidence to support cyber certification.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Technology or equivalent.
• Experience with network security devices (firewalls, IDS/IPS) and segmentation.
• Knowledge of system hardening across Windows/Linux/embedded platforms.
• Experience in secure software development, cryptography or incident detection and response.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST 800-53 and STIGs.

Responsibilities

• Developing and reviewing cyber testing and certification plans.
• Compiling and assessing verification evidence to support cyber certification.
• Providing cyber engineering advice and working with engineering leads during technical activities.
• Contributing to system reviews (SRR, PDR, DDR and TRR).
• Representing the organisation in cyber working groups with external stakeholders.
