Job summary

Talent Web Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Analyst to join a national public sector organisation in Sydney CBD. The role involves building, monitoring, investigating and uplifting security controls, with hybrid work flexibility.

You will work across Azure IaaS and PaaS, implement ISM and Essential 8 controls, manage incident response lifecycle, and collaborate with government stakeholders to uplift security posture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in technical cyber security or cloud security roles.
• Experience implementing Essential Eight ML2 and ISM controls in Azure/M365.
• Experience administering and securing Azure environments and security technologies.
• Incident response, vulnerability management, and Essential Eight experience.
• Ability to communicate security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

About Your Role

You will be working for a national public sector organisation that provides leadership, policy support, and quality assurance for a highly regulated service sector, collaborating with governments and stakeholders across Australia.

You are a hands‑on Analyst who builds, monitors, investigates and uplifts security controls.

Your Responsibilities

• Application security testing, developer/vendor collaboration; Azure IaaS + PaaS (Dynamics, Power Platform)
• Cloud Administration: administer, configure, and uplift security baselines across the Microsoft stack
• Australian ISM and Essential 8 framework compliance
• Own incident response lifecycle – from containment through to reporting

About You

• Minimum 5 years in a technical cyber security, cloud security, Azure administration, or Microsoft security administration role
• Practical implementation experience of Essential Eight ML2 and ISM controls in a Microsoft Azure / M365 environment
• Experience administering and securing Microsoft Azure environments and security technologies such as Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Azure Policy, Purview, M365 at SIEM/EDR level
• Demonstrated capabilities in incident Response, vulnerability Management, and Essential Eight frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess, prioritise, and communicate cyber security risks
• Ability to communicate technical cyber security and cloud security concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
