Job summary

nbn is seeking a Customer Field Technician to work independently on installations, repairs and maintenance in homes or businesses. You will install copper or fibre cabling, set up customer equipment, identify faults and ensure customers feel informed and supported throughout the process.

Expect full training, tools provided, and ongoing support. Working hours are 7am–7pm with flexibility based on business needs, and a strong emphasis on safety and customer service throughout.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in telecommunications isn’t needed — we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
  • You might come from a trade, a hands‑on technical job, or a customer‑focused role.
  • A strong commitment to safety, clear communication skills, and a current, clean Driver’s Licence are essential.

A bit about your role

As a Customer Field Technician, you’ll work independently to complete a variety of tasks across different nbn technologies. Your work will include installations, repairs, maintenance, and supporting customers in their homes or businesses. Your day might involve installing copper or fibre cabling, setting up customer equipment, identifying and fixing faults, and ensuring customers feel supported and informed throughout the process. Working hours are between7am and 7pm, with flexibility based on business needs. You’ll receive full training, all required tools, and ongoing support so you feel confident and set up for success.

Safety is a fundamental part of this role—whether you're handling equipment, working in customers’ premises, or completing technical tasks, you’ll be expected to consistently apply safe work practices and follow nbn’s safety procedures.
