Job summary

dnata catering at Canberra Airport is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to load aircraft catering onto hi-lift trucks, drive to aircraft and work with cabin crew to ensure accurate delivery. You’ll be on the tarmac as part of our Airside team, handling carts, ovens, and documentation with a strong safety mindset and neat presentation.

The role requires a valid MR/HR license, ability to perform manual handling, and flexibility to work around flight schedules.

Qualifications

• Clean MR or HR driver’s license required.
• Ability to perform frequent manual handling tasks.
• Safety First Mindset, always be aware of surroundings, practice proper techniques per our company standard training
• Flexibility working around flight schedules is essential.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Neat and tidy presentation.
• Clear National Police Check required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload aircraft catering and carts on/off trucks across short distances.
• Load fully stocked aircraft trolleys onto hi-lift trucks and deliver to aircraft.
• Guide and position trucks in line with airport and company policies.
• Coordinate with Airline cabin crew for servicing and handover of deliveries.
• Coordinate with dispatch on flight timings and deliveries.
• Handle administrative documentation, reporting, and general cleaning duties as required.

So, what does a day in the life of a Customer Delivery Driver look like?

As a member of our Airside team, you are the face of dnata catering out on the tarmac and are responsible for the very important task of correctly loading catering onto the aircraft. To do this, you need to load fully stocked aircraft trolleys onto our hi-lift trucks and drive a short distance to the aircraft.

Once airside, you will guide the vehicle for safe approach, load the carts onto the aircraft, and work with the airline cabin crew to make sure everything is correct. You will also remove any empty carts, before heading back to our catering facility.

In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:

• Short distance driving and basic vehicle checks, including re-fueling.
• Safely load and unload trucks and aircraft with catering, carts, and ovens, ensuring any discrepancies are followed up on.
• Guide and position the trucks in line with company, airport, and airline policies.
• Communicate and coordinate with Airline cabin crew for aircraft servicing and delivery hand over.
• Coordinate with dispatch aircraft timings and flight delivery allocations.
• Administrative documentation, reporting and general cleaning duties as required.

Availability to work 38 hours/week, as this role is a full-time permanent position.
