Job description

Who are we?

So you might ask, who´s CreditorWatch? We are a leading Australian data and technology company that provides businesses with access to unique data and innovative products. By using our platform, our customers can confidently manage their commercial relationships, improve productivity and reduce financial risk. As a commercial credit reporting bureau, we offer a complete suite of credit reporting products and data insights covering the entire customer lifecycle-from customer onboarding and credit decision automation to credit risk management and automated collections. We were established in 2010 and have been named one of AFR's Top 10 Best Places to Work, as well as certified by Great Place to Work consecutively across 2022-2025. We are scaling at pace, making this an exciting time to join CreditorWatch.

Our Purpose

Empower Australian businesses to trade confidently with their customers.

Our Mission

We aim to be number one in our industry by delivering unique data insights and innovative products.

Collect, the Product Collect is CreditorWatch's built-for-purpose accounts receivable platform, enabling faster payments and smarter collections by combining direct ERP integrations, best-in-class CreditorWatch data, and workflow-driven automation. Unlike legacy systems, Collect is designed for the complexity of modern receivables processes, empowering accounts receivable teams to migrate away from manual processes and invest in the right escalation tactics, bringing more cash in faster - without admin headaches or the need to hire more staff.

Your Role & Team

The Customer Collections Specialist plays a key role in delivering Collect Call Assist, a managed service within CreditorWatch Collect that helps businesses resolve overdue accounts, improve payment outcomes and strengthen cash flow. Working on behalf of Collect customers, you will engage directly with their customers to facilitate payment conversations, follow up on outstanding invoices, manage disputes and capture critical account updates. You'll act as an extension of our customers' accounts receivable teams, helping them stay informed, prioritise actions and achieve better collections outcomes. In this role, you'll manage a portfolio of accounts, navigate complex payment and dispute scenarios, and build trusted relationships through professional and solution-focused communication. You'll work in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment and collaborate closely with Product, Implementation and Sales teams, sharing insights that help improve the Collect Call Assist service and shape the future of the Collect platform. You'll report directly to the Principal Product Manager in this role.

Please note, it's part-time (4 days) opportunity, offering hybrid working conditions out of our Sydney CBD Office.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct outbound collection calls and follow-up communications on behalf of CreditorWatch customers to recover outstanding invoices.
  • Build professional relationships with debtors while maintaining a customer-focused and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Accurately document call outcomes, payment commitments, disputes and account updates within internal systems.
  • Identify and elevate debtor disputes, billing issues and account queries to customers in a timely manner.
  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, prioritising activities to maximise collection outcomes.
  • Liaise closely with customers to provide updates, share insights and ensure a high-quality service experience.
  • Collaborate with Product, Implementation & Sales teams to improve processes and service delivery.
  • Provide feedback and insights gathered from customers and debtors to help shape future product and service enhancements.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and growth of CreditorWatch's Collects's Collect Call Assist service.
Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in accounts receivable, collections, credit control, customer service or a related role.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and confidence speaking with customers and debtors over the phone.
  • Excellent written communication and note-taking skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage difficult conversations professionally and confidently.
  • Experience handling customer disputes, escalations or complex account queries.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively in a dynamic environment.
