Job summary

Queensland Department of Education – Brisbane QLD is seeking a strategic, collaborative educational leader to join our school as Head of Department (Curriculum) at Calamvale Special School.

The successful applicant will provide leadership and direction in curriculum planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation to enhance the quality of teaching and learning and improve student outcomes across the school.

Qualifications

• Proven experience providing strategic leadership across curriculum areas.
• Ability to drive school-wide curriculum improvement and assessment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with staff, families and the wider community.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across curriculum areas or whole-school programs, establishing a shared educational vision focused on high-quality teaching, learning and student outcomes.
• Promote inclusive, equitable and high expectations for student achievement, staff performance and professional standards.
• Drive continuous improvement through lifelong learning, professional development, reflective practice and the implementation of innovative educational strategies.
• Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with students, parents, staff, government agencies and community organisations to enhance student learning, wellbeing and engagement.
• Effectively manage human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources to achieve strategic goals.
