Job summary

Woollah Council is seeking an experienced Curator to join the Woollah Gallery at Redleaf on a permanent full-time basis. The role focuses on developing the annual exhibition program, coordinating production and installation, and managing relationships with artists, lenders, and partners.

You will work with the Director and Gallery team to deliver engaging contemporary visual arts experiences, public programs, and community engagement while ensuring high professional standards and strong customer

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in curatorial studies, visual arts, arts management or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in curatorial practice and exhibition production.
• Proven project management skills including scheduling, contracts and risk management.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Experience developing and delivering public programs.
• Experience with grant writing, fundraising and sponsorship development.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) and SketchUp.
• Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain; First Aid Certificate.
• Flexible to work weekends and evenings when required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the annual exhibition program and other public programs.
• Coordinate the production and installation of exhibitions.
• Manage relationships with artists, lenders, contractors and institutional partners.
• Develop and coordinate delivery of public programs including talks, workshops and events.
• Draft curatorial content and interpretive materials; brief designers and approve content for print and digital collateral.
• Prepare grant applications and acquittals; assist with sponsorship initiatives.
• Embed WHS practices relevant to gallery operations and installations.
