Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a dedicated worker to engage with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families and service providers, delivering culturally safe casework and child protection support. You will collaborate with Recognised Entities to strengthen safety networks and contribute to workforce cultural capability.

The role requires travel and a valid C-class driver licence. You will operate within the Strengthening Families Protecting Children framework and Our Way vision,

Qualifications

• This role requires engagement with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples in line with the genuine occupational requirement.
• It involves cultural leadership and knowledge of communities to support family services.

Responsibilities

• Engage with children, families, carers and service providers to support cultural needs and case plan goals.
• Deliver casework support, child protection intervention and referrals in a culturally appropriate manner.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including families and Recognised Entities, to strengthen safety and support networks.
• Share cultural advice to strengthen workforce capability and ensure practices align with cultural processes.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally appropriate family support to vulnerable children and families.
• Contribute to ongoing learning and professional development to keep practice knowledge current.
• Apply the Strengthening Families Protecting Children Framework and Our Way principles in everyday work.
• Prepare and maintain quality case records in line with departmental requirements.
• Travel as required and hold a current "C" class driver licence.

It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. This aligns with the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 protected attribute of race.It is mandatory to have a Blue Card (a current Working with Children Clearance issued by Blue Card Services) before you commence employment in this role.
