Job summary

Reef Catchments Limited in the Mackay region is seeking a Cultural Heritage and Engagement Officer to strengthen relationships with industry, government and the broader community. Reporting to the Program Director - Community and Environment, this role supports participation, capacity building and delivery of cultural heritage initiatives across the Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac region.

You will undertake fieldwork, provide heritage advice, ensure compliance with relevant cultural heritage

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of cultural heritage management principles and practices.
• Experience engaging with industry, community groups and government stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating projects and delivering outcomes to deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to collect, analyse and interpret field and desktop data.
• Current Queensland Drivers Licence and capacity to work across the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with industry, community and government stakeholders.
• Deliver cultural heritage and conservation projects that support environmental and community goals.
• Provide cultural heritage advice to guide project planning and delivery.
• Undertake fieldwork, site assessments and data collection.
• Prepare reports and stakeholder communications to inform program activities.
• Promote culturally appropriate practices across Reef Catchments programs.
