Job summary

St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital, part of UnitingCare Queensland, seeks a CSSD Team Leader to coordinate sterilisation services and lead a busy team across operating theatres and clinical areas. You will drive quality improvements and ensure staff training and competency in sterilisation technologies.

The role offers permanent full-time employment at the Brisbane location with competitive remuneration and not-for-profit salary packaging options.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a CSSD Sterilisation Technician.
• Experience leading and managing a team.
• Current experience in sterilisation techniques and reprocessing medical devices.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standard 5369.
• Willingness to obtain vaccinations and pass criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shift activities in the Sterilisation department.

• Employment Term: Permanent Full Time Position
• Location: located opposite Roma St Parklands, St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital is just a short walk to Brisbane city
• Remuneration: $40.34 - $41.92 phr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our St Andrews War Memorial Hospital team

As the CSSD Team Leader, you will be responsible for the ongoing coordination of the Sterilisation Team, supervising the reprocessing and sterilisation of all reusable medical devices and equipment to the operating theatres, clinical area and external customers.

You will:

• Supervise the shift activities, within the Sterilisation department
• Identify, promote and participate in relevant quality improvement projects and education programs to ensure continuous quality improvements
• Assist the Department Manager ensuring team members are appropriately trained and competent in the use of all equipment
• Act as a sterilising consultant and resource person to staff on sterilising technology
• Assist the Department Manager with HR related processesAssist with the staff rosters in accordance with relevant EA guidelines and department needs

What makes a difference for us?

• At least 2 years' experience as a CSSD Sterilisation Technician
• Experience as a Team Leader
• Current clinical experience in sterilisation techniques and reprocessing medical devices and instruments
• Experience leading and managing a team
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standard 5369 Reprocessing of reusable medical devices in a health services organisation.
• Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements, as well as undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment
