Job summary

Healthscope's Peninsula Private Hospital on the Redcliffe Peninsula is seeking an experienced Level 2 Clinical Nurse to lead the CSSD within our busy Theatre teams, VMOs and loan set providers. You will drive safe, patient-centric sterilization services and ensure compliance with ACORN standards.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, strong leadership responsibilities and the opportunity to improve work-life balance while supporting high-quality care across six operating theatres.

Qualifications

• Lead CSSD team ensuring safe, efficient sterilization and instrument flow.
• Adhere to ACORN standards and sterilization processes.
• Provide supervision, teaching and direction to CSSD Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Over-seeing a high standard of evidence-based Sterilization services to operating theatre and other clinical departments within the hospital.
• Adhere to Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) standards and plan, assess, implement and evaluate cleaning, sterilization and packing of hospital instruments.
• Provide clinical leadership - direction, support, supervision and teaching for CSSD Technicians.

• Level 2 Clinical Nurse

The Opportunity

This may be the job for you!Our Perioperative Leadership Team are seeking an experienced and engaging level 2 Clinical Nurse with a focus on providing a safe, patient-centric CSSD service to join our Theatre teams, VMOs and loan set providers. You will be responsible for leading the CSSD team to ensure efficient and effective flow of the CSSD while ensuring site compliance to all sterilization standards.

About Us

Peninsula Private is a 65-bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 6 operating theatres and a new high dependency unit to open in the near future, located on the idyllic Redcliffe Peninsula. Specialties include orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, internal medicine and the delivery of leading rehabilitation services and programs on the Brisbane northside.

As the CSSD Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Over-seeing a high standard of evidence-based Sterilization services to the operating theatre and other clinical departments within the hospital
• As the CSSD Manager you will adhere to Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) standards and plan, assess, implement and evaluate the cleaning, sterilization and packing of hospital instruments
• Provide clinical leadership - providing direction, support, supervision, teaching and specific clinical specialty direction for CSSD Technicians
