Job summary

Ampcontrol is seeking a Mechanical Services Engineer to design, integrate, test and commission mechanical cooling systems for critical power infrastructure, including UPS, batteries, switchgear, generators and data centres. You will work across concept to handover, collaborating with electrical engineers, OEMs, contractors and clients, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and building codes.

Ideal candidate has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience in data centres or

Qualifications

Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
Experience designing and/or commissioning cooling systems, ideally in data centres or critical environments.
Understanding interaction between mechanical and electrical systems.
Knowledge of UPS, batteries, switchgear or other electrical infrastructure is a plus.
Focus on redundancy, resilience and reliability principles.
Strong analytical and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

Design and engineer HVAC, cooling and ventilation systems for UPS and data centres.
Perform cooling load calculations and equipment selection.
Integrate mechanical systems with electrical infrastructure.
Comply with Australian standards and client specs.
Support FAT, SAT and commissioning activities.
Document calculations and commissioning records.
Collaborate with project managers, OEMs and clients through all phases.
Site-based commissioning and project work as required.
