Job summary
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service (Qld) Ltd – ATSILS Mount Isa Office invites applications for a Criminal Law Legal Practitioner passionate about social justice. You will engage in substantial court work, including circuit travel and youth matters, with independent workflow management and a family-friendly environment.
Compensation is attractive with generous benefits and an annual remote allowance of 10,000 AUD to sustain community relationships.
Qualifications
- Must be admitted as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland with a current Practising Certificate or eligible for immediate acquisition.
- Demonstrate a high level of professional service in Criminal Law across adult and youth jurisdictions.
- Hold a current Driver Licence and be willing to drive for work.
- Two years' full-time post-admission experience and ability to handle complex matters.
Responsibilities
- Advocacy across a variety of Courts with circuit work and youth jurisdiction.
- Manage your own workflows without billable hours.
- Provide culturally sensitive legal services and community engagement.
- Contribute to professional development and continuous learning.
