State Bank of India invites applications for a Credit Officer based in Sydney. This full-time fixed-term contract (12 months) focuses on loan proposal development, KYC, due diligence, risk appraisal and comprehensive credit management within a structured bank environment.

Prepare loan proposals following the bank’s prescribed format, ensuring they cover all aspects of credit appraisal and adhere to internal loan policies as well as home and host country regulations.
Identify and document any waivers or deviations from policy, providing comprehensive justifications for inclusion in the proposal.
Conduct initial Know Your Customer (KYC) checks and perform financial, legal, and technical due diligence on potential borrowers.
Assist the AVP (Credit) in evaluating risk associated with new proposals and ensuring timely submission for approval.
Upon loan sanction, prepare control reports for review by the appropriate authority.
Collaborate with the AVP in conducting detailed Credit Risk Analysis, including the analysis of financial statements and financial ratios to ensure they align with the bank’s benchmarks and performance standards.
Perform detailed financial ratio analysis (efficiency, liquidity, profitability, and solvency) to evaluate borrower performance against the bank's internal hurdles and policies.
Prepare and present quarterly and annual reviews of loan accounts, assessing borrower performance based on audited financial statements and financial achievements.
Maintain regular communication with borrowers, issuing rollover notices, rate fixing advisories, and requests for compliance certificates and financial documents.
Correspond with MLAB and other lenders to Syndication, ensuring smooth information exchange regarding rate changes, financial updates, and loan account performance.
Assist the AVP (Credit) by gathering important information and providing support in the preparation of credit proposals.
Assist with the collection of papers from agents/customers, support the renewal of accounts, and comment on financial ratios in the proposals.
Assist with compiling, updating of necessary data regarding the portfolio, credit and prepare reports as requested from time to time.
Assist with daily risk management tasks, maintain a risk register, and perform regular risk analysis and stress testing.
Document and report risks, track mitigation actions, and ensure compliance with risk management policies, including documentation in the DROVA GRC tool and other tools as and when available.
Monitor and promptly report any reputational risks, supporting a strong risk management culture in line with SBIA values.
Assist the group in preparation of the compliances for the various Audit Observations and compilation of relevant data/reports.
Support in sanctioning Working Capital (WC), Revolving Credit Facility (RCF), and Term Loan (TL) proposals, including preparing fresh loan proposals, conducting due diligence, and ensuring compliance with bank policies.
Assist senior management in any other tasks related to credit administration, risk management, or client communication or any other tasks as assigned.
Manage daily risk management activities and implement controls and actions established by senior management.
Maintain and update the risk register, document identified risks, and track mitigation actions.
Perform routine risk analysis, conduct stress testing, and self-assess the adequacy of processes and controls.
Record issues and incidents in the GRC tool, conduct root cause analysis, and develop appropriate remediation actions.
Monitor daily activities for potential reputational risks and flag concerns promptly.
Uphold a positive risk culture that aligns with organizational values and the risk management framework.
Ensure timely completion of all required risk management training programs.
