Job summary

BlueRock Group is seeking a Credit Controller to lead and mentor the credit team, monitor KPIs, and own debtor reporting. The role involves setting credit policy, recovery strategies, and improving credit control systems with a focus on client satisfaction and compliance.

You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, manage payment plans, and leverage technology to optimise debt collection while contributing to robust financial processes at our CBD HQ.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in a similar credit control role.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Clear and effective communication is essential.
• Ability to explain complex financial issues clearly to clients.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor the credit team and monitor KPIs (DSO, collection rate, aged debt).
• Own debtor reporting: aged debt, WIP/lockup, risk and trend reports for leadership.
• Set credit policy, escalation paths and recovery strategy including payment plans and write-offs.
• Drive system enhancements and improvements to credit control processes.

About Operations team

BlueRock Operations supports our advisory divisions to make our BlueRock employees’ lives easier! Our Operations team comprises finance, people & culture, marketing and IT professionals. We are pioneers of innovation and are always on the lookout for ways to improve processes so our teams can get back to the important stuff, supporting our clients.

What you’ll be doing

• Coach and mentor, helping to monitor the credit team KPI's (DSO, collection rate, aged debt, overdue %)
• Own debtor reporting: build and deliver aged debt, WIP/lockup, risk and trend reports for the executive leadership team
• Set credit policy, escalation paths and recovery strategy, including payment plans, legal action and write-offs
• System enhancement and improvement focus, including improving and iterating ways of working and credit control frameworks
• Evaluate credit applications with a keen eye to assess the creditworthiness of our entrepreneur customers!
  Establish meaningful connections with our clients through regular phone contact.
• Leverage technology to optimise debt collection processes.
• Contribute to building a robust financial process that streamlines our business operations.
• Assisting in establishing payment plans to enhance client compliance and satisfaction.

• 6+ year’s experience in a similar role, ideally within a commercial/professional services environment, working with multiple stakeholders

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Clear and effective communication is essential.
• The ability to explain complex financial issues in a way that clients can understand and the ability be persuasive without being confrontational.
• Team leadership and coaching experience
• Previous experience with debtor reporting and analytics is a must have.
