Job summary

Edward Jacobs AU in Sydney is seeking a Credit Control Officer to join a fast-paced corporate environment. You will work with the Accounts Receivable team to manage overdue accounts and support debt collection processes.

The role requires a Finance degree, experience in high-volume collections, ERP literacy, and strong communication with stakeholders. You will produce detailed reports and help reduce debtor DSO while negotiating payment plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance required.
• Experience in a full-function accounts receivable/collections role is ideal.
• Knowledge of complex ERP systems and high-volume debt collection is essential.
• Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).

Responsibilities

• Assist with detailed weekly or monthly reporting on overdue accounts.
• Manage overdue debtors, complex disputes, and negotiate payment plans.
• Ensure debtors are tightly managed and report on KPI’s to reduce debtors DSO.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive debt collection outcomes.
• Ad-hoc duties as required.

OUR CLIENT

Established 20 years ago, our client is rapidly expanding supermarket retail chain in Australia and has recently opened a division in New Zealand. Given the company's current phase of expansion, the client is looking for a Credit Control Officer who can handle a fast-paced corporate environment and is forward-thinking and driven.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Credit Control Officer works in close with the Accounts Receivable team. The key additional duties of the role will include:

• Assist with Detailed weekly or monthly reporting on all overdue accounts, together with assisting the team to action overdue accounts
• Manage Overdue debtors, complex dispute resolutions, debt collection and negotiate payment plans
• Ensure debtors are tightly managed, reporting on debtor balances and KPI’s, highlighting high risk accounts to ensure a reduction in debtors DSO
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve a positive outcome in the debt collection process
• Additional ad-hoc duties as required

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor’s degree level qualified in Finance required
• Experience in a full-function accounts receivable/collections role in a financial firm is ideal
• Experience in a large debt collection environment, high volume, and high value
• Knowledge of complex ERP systems
• Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
• Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
