About You

As a Creative Arts Teacher (Music/Drama/Visual Art), you will help every student reach their full potential through high-quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy. Your major accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Implementing and delivering the SCS Music Education Program and NSW Creative Arts K-6 Syllabus
  • Leading and conducting instrumental/vocal ensembles (e.g., school choir)
  • Collaborating with Instrumental Tutors and Classroom Teachers to deliver quality Performing Arts Education, including public performances and liturgical/special events
  • Promoting and upholding Sydney Catholic Schools’ mission and vision
  • Promoting and abiding by SCS values of empathy, curiosity, excellence, collaboration and truth
  • Working collaboratively in a job-share environment
  • Tertiary qualification in Primary Education with Music experience and/or qualifications, plus ability to teach Drama and Visual Art across K-6
  • Experience as a Classroom Music/Drama/Visual Art Teacher in Primary schools
  • Enthusiastic educator, driven to inspire children in the Creative Arts
  • Practice informed by contemporary educational research on how students best learn
  • Confident with the use of relevant technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to high-quality student performances
  • Willingness to support the Catholic ethos of Sydney Catholic Schools
  • Current driver's licence
  • Baptised Catholic with ongoing commitment to Catholic Church teachings and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community
