Job summary

Jewish Care is seeking an Activities Organiser to develop and deliver a lively programme of activities for residents in care homes. You will plan, organise, and lead social, recreational, educational and therapeutic activities, including outings and community connections.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people living with dementia.
• First Aid at Work certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
• Ability to plan, organise and lead a wide range of activities.
• Initiative, creativity and the confidence to work independently.
• Good IT skills including Publisher, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to prepare reports and undertake risk assessments.
• Sensitivity to residents' individual needs, with compassion.
• Commitment to teamwork and delivering a high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging activities tailored to residents' interests and needs.
• Encourage participation to promote wellbeing and social interaction.
• Maintain links with the Jewish community and wider community for events.
• Recruit, coordinate and support volunteers for activities and outings.
• Facilitate resident committee meetings and use feedback to shape programmes.
• Plan activities and outings with risk assessments and reports.
• Build positive relationships with colleagues, families and community organisations.
• Introduce new activities and opportunities to enrich residents' lives.
