Job description

Pluto Train is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~ 225 Terajoules per day. On 1 January 2022, Woodside issued Full Notice to Proceed (FNTP) to Bechtel (Western Australia) Pty Ltd and Bechtel International, Inc (Bechtel) for the Pluto Train 2 Project Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope of work. Woodside is Australia\'s leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.

Planning / Productivity

  • Determines workforce requirements.
  • Coordinates established area operational plans.
  • Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
  • Oversees the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.

Safety & Quality

  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.

Technical

  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Leading Hands, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
  • Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Leading Hands and Craft Professionals.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor\'s degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Machinery Shaft Alignment using both Analog Method and Laser Alignment
  • Condition Monitoring & Baseline testing of Rotating Equipment
  • Previous experience on Completions systems (CCMS)
  • Strong Fault finding and Problem-solving ability
  • Previous experience in a Leadership Role
  • Prior O&G experience
Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).

The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.

This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
