Job summary

G4S Australia and New Zealand is hiring casual security staff for Court Services Victoria. The role focuses on ensuring safety and order at courthouses during daytime hours, with on-site paid training for baton, handcuff, and x-ray screening procedures.

After training, you’ll be qualified as an Authorised Officer of the Courts. You will conduct screening, operate detectors, manage access, and support safe court operations in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate II or III in Security Operations is required.
• Current Victorian security licence.
• Current first aid accreditation.
• Willingness to travel across Wodonga Magistrates Court & Corryong Magistrates Court.

Responsibilities

• Providing exceptional customer service to anyone entering the court.
• Conducting x-ray screening, using metal detectors and searching individuals for prohibited items.
• Roving security patrols within and external to the building.
• Conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Acting as a first responder to any incidents that may occur.

About the role and team

Our team at Court Services Victoria keeps the courts and tribunals and the people who attend them safe, secure and orderly. As a valued team member, you'll play a significant role in helping build safer communities by ensuring the public feel safe and protected when dealing with the judicial system. This is a varied position where you have to think on your feet, be able to problem solve and work as a team, making no two days the same.

You'll be responsible for:

Court Services Victoria is divided into seven hub locations across the state. There are more than 65 courts across Victoria allocated to these hubs. Your workplace within a hub can be both fixed or flexible, and we can provide opportunities for movement within the contract to support your requirements. Our Hume Hub 3 consists of Wodonga Magistrates Court & Corryong Magistrates Court.

What we're looking for
