Job summary

Relationships Australia NSW in Tamworth is seeking an experienced Couple & Family Counsellor to join the Medicare Mental Health Hub. You will provide therapeutic support to individuals, couples and families, and work within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.

The role focuses on family systems approaches, intake and assessments, care planning and service navigation, with candidates expected to have registration eligibility and supervised clinical hours.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Counselling, Counselling & Psychotherapy, Relationship Counselling, or Couple & Family Counselling
• Eligibility for registration with AHPRA, AASW, PACFA or ACA
• Minimum 100 hours of clinically supervised counselling experience
• Experience with couples and families using a family systems framework
• Understanding of mental health, family violence, child protection and addiction
• Commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed practice

Responsibilities

• Deliver counselling to individuals, couples and families
• Conduct intake, psychosocial and risk assessments
• Develop recovery and wellbeing plans with clients
• Provide care coordination and service navigation
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Apply family systems and evidence-based therapeutic approaches
• Maintain professional documentation and participate in supervision
