Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a Counsellor/Group Facilitator for Bundaberg. This part-time, maximum-term role involves assessment, counselling and group work within the Parenting Orders Program, with some evening work required.

You will support families experiencing separation and high conflict, while adhering to safeguarding and organisational procedures. Preference for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Bachelor level degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science.
• Eligible for APS; AASW or PACFA membership.
• Current Queensland Driver's Licence is required.
• Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card) required.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, counselling, psychoeducation, referrals and case management to parents.
• Co-facilitate the Business of Parenting Groupwork.
• Offer support to children and families through referrals and collaboration.
• Complete risk assessments and safety planning for clients experiencing domestic and family violence.
