Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Counselling (AQF 8+ or equivalent).
• Significant counselling industry experience and tertiary teaching experience.
• Eligibility for ACA or PACFA membership.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, student support, and professional mentorship.
• Capacity to teach across undergraduate and postgraduate counselling programs.
• Ability to teach a broad range of counselling and psychotherapy subjects.
• Commitment to ongoing professional and academic development.
• Demonstrated ability to support the professional formation of future counsellors through theory, practice, ethics, self-reflection, and cultural responsiveness.

Responsibilities

• Ignite intellectual curiosity through independent teaching in tutorials, workshops, placement units, and clinical sessions, engaging with students in immersive learning experiences.
• Explore innovative teaching methodologies in developing and reviewing units and course materials in collaboration with Senior Counselling academic staff.
• Participate in scholarly research projects from time to time, enriching your expertise and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the Counselling field.
• Cultivate a growth mindset as you actively reflect on your teaching practice, utilising feedback to continually improve and enhance your methods.
