Job summary

School Infrastructure in Australia seeks an experienced Manager, Cost Management to lead cost planning, cost control and governance across the design and construction lifecycle of projects. You will provide strategic cost management advice to senior executives and project teams, ensuring strong financial oversight and value for money.

You will lead a team of Quantity Surveyors, drive cost-effective outcomes, and ensure compliance with standards and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in cost management, cost planning and cost control within construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, variation assessments, progress claims and cost risk management.
• Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making and drive cost-effective outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of cost management frameworks, strategies and governance processes.
• Prepare and review pre-tender estimates, cost plans, variations and progress claims to support effective project cost control.
• Conduct cost benchmarking, data analytics and risk assessments to identify cost trends and improve project performance.
• Lead and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors, providing expert advice and support to project teams and senior stakeholders.
• Prepare management reports, undertake peer reviews of cost plans and ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislative requirements and performance targets.
